DataLogic International Receives an Order for 500 Panther Trak™ Units from South American Technology Consortium

GPS Tracking Devices Are to be Used on Buses in Cuenca, Ecuador

IRVINE, Calif., October 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - DataLogic International, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board:DLGI; Berlin, Frankfurt Stock Exchange:779612) a provider of consulting services and communication solutions including GPS-based mobile asset tracking, secured mobile communications and VoIP, today announced receipt of an order for its award-winning Panther Trak™ mobile asset tracking device from TK & Asociados, a South American technology consortium. The Panther Trak units will be used for route and bus stop control, AVL (Automated Vehicle Location), voice and text messaging connecting the bus fleet in Cuenca, Ecuador with the fleet’s Central Control Center.

The Panther Trak order is part of a TK & Asociados contract to automate public transportation for cooperatives in Cuenca, with elements including smart cards, ticket validation, turnstile technology, on-board computers and passenger counters. TK & Asociados is comprised of TASKI, a major Ecuadorian industrial, commercial and service conglomerate; Autotrack, a service provider; and Ing. Rodrigo Torres B., a consultant for Latin American transport systems.

The award-winning Panther Trak device consists of a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and a wireless modem that communicates through Personal Communication System (PCS) networks including AT&T, T-Mobile, Cingular and more.
